LUDHIANA: More than 150 delegates including final year students of management and engineering from various colleges participated in business guidance camp organized by Punjab Infotech in association with TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) here on Tuesday. The camps are part of TiE���s pan-India campaign titled ���Enterprising India: Changing the Nation, Leading the World���.
Inaugurating the camp, Dr SS Channy, principal secretary, industries and commerce, government of Punjab, said, ���Spirit of people of Punjab is embodied in their enterprise and endeavour. State government is creating an ecosystem which can facilitate business and investments.���
He stated that this would beachieved by taking the four-pillar approach focusing on infrastructure, humanresources, policy framework and investor relations. State government has enactedIndustrial Facilitation Act and has notified regulations that provide deemedapprovals after the stipulated time, he said.
He said IndustrialPolicy 2009 would be notified shortly. Industrialists have been waiting for thepolicy for more than two years. Puneet Vatsyayan, president, TiE, Chandigarh andPunjab, said, ���TiE endeavours to energize entrepreneurial ecosystem inthis region.���
He added that the initiative will reach a high note at TiEentrepreneurial summit 09 from December 21 to 23 at Mumbai.
This wasfollowed by a brief presentation by Punjab Infotech, which underlined strengthsof Punjab in different industrial sectors and highlighted initiatives by stategovernment to simplify setting up and running of businesses in thestate.
RK Verma, MD, Punjab Infotech, said Punjab Infotech has comeout with a publication, ���Doing Business in Punjab- An IT InvestorsGuide���, and single-window system for IT investors. He gave details of anincubation centre being developed by Punjab Infotech for budding entrepreneursin Mohali.
